Ever since the start of high school, Ben has had a passion for learning and doing what it takes to get better. Starting high school as an upper 70’s thrower with dreams of playing division 1 and professional baseball. Two and a half years later he was sitting in the low 90’s and set the single season strikeouts record Georgia and committed to Stanford University, one of the best programs in college baseball. The progress he had seen only motivated him to go deeper, learn more, and train harder.
The next 7 years took a different turn where he dealt with 4 foot-fractures, 3 surgeries, a torn UCL, shoulder inflammation, multiple botched rehab processes, and rotator cuff damage. It was ultimately a domino effect of injuries as one led into the next and when you accompany this with misdiagnoses, surgical complications, and poor rehab, you end up spending a lot of time on the shelf. However, these circumstances allowed him to grow and learn the why behind all performance components which now allows Ben to be one of the best in the business.
After graduating from Stanford with a degree in Management Science and Engineering and then proceeding to get his MBA, Ben still dealt with pain and the residual effect of injuries. He started coaching and training high school, college, and professional athletes, while also training and continuing to rehab himself. Come Christmas time of 2021, eight months after graduating business school, and a little over a year and a half into coaching, He was fully healthy, pain-free, and sitting 95-97mph in bullpens.
After racking up a whopping 6 regular season college innings in 7years, he was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays a few weeks later and currently serves as a pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays Organization and the Director of Performance Initiatives for Connected Performance.
